Dear All,
I am looking forward to our scheduled appointment. Please bring whatever materials that you wish to have looked over to this appointment. Our appointments are one hour in length; to ensure adequate time to collaborate on ideas, and to strengthen your written work. There are two ways in which our appointments can take place:
Meeting Virtually: If you choose to meet virtually, please let me know as soon as possible, by emailing me at AT_almason@ilstu.edu. I will then send you a zoom link which you can join me during the selected hour of our appointment. Please have your materials available electronically, as I will give you access to share your screen.
Meeting Face to Face: If you wish to meet face to face, please come to room 208E in Hovey Hall, and knock on the door. I will answer the door, and then we may begin our meeting. Please bring a computer with the work you would like to have reviewed, or a hard copy. Usage of facemasks is optional.
Be advised that each student has a maximum of three visits with me per semester. As time slots are limited, this was implemented so as many students who need help with work can see me, as they need. Also keep in mind that this is not a proofreading or copyediting service, but instead a process in which I offer you examples and ideas to strengthen your writing by working with you through a collaborative process. I look forward to meeting you soon!

A minimum of 24 hours advance notice is required for cancellations.
If a student misses 3 scheduled appointments or has 3 short notice cancellations (less than 24 hours) he/she will be required to meet with a staff member prior to further appointment bookings.
If you are late for an appointment you may be required to rebook your appointment.
This procedure has been put in place out of respect for our staff and students.
