Welcome to my advising appointment management system!
Please note, I advise:
· Chemistry and Biochemistry majors
and Chemistry minors with at least 24 earned credit hours.
· Physics majors and Physics minors with at least 24
earned credit hours.
ALSO: Thursdays are my remote work day. If you schedule a Thursday appointment with me, it will take place via Zoom.
All freshmen and undeclared students are advised
by the University
College Academic Advisement Center or Honors
Program. All Chemistry Teacher Education majors are advised by Dr. Elisha
Swanson (enswans@ilstu.edu). All
Physics Teacher Education majors are advised by Mr. Ken Wester (kwester@ilstu.edu). I am happy to meet with
students interested in the Chemistry major, Biochemistry major, Physics major,
or Chemistry or Physics minors as well!
Students who are interested in pursuing admission to graduate-level programs
in the health
professions (i.e. going to medical school, dental school, pharmacy school,
etc.) are also encouraged to meet with Kate Weiser (kgweise@ilstu.edu), the pre-professional
advisor in University College.
Scheduling:
To schedule an appointment with me, please select a day and time below and
enter the requested information with as much detail as needed for me to prepare
in advance to help you. Please contact me if none of the times below work with
your schedule. You are
responsible for cancelling your scheduled appointment if you are unable to
attend. Please respect my time and efforts by notifying me as soon as possible
if you can no longer make your appointment.
Cancellation Policy:
· A minimum of 2 hours advance
notice is required for cancellations.
· If a student misses 3
scheduled appointments or has 3 short notice cancellations (less than 24 hours)
he/she will be required to meet with a staff member prior to further
appointment bookings.
· If you are late for an
appointment you may be required to rebook your appointment.
· This procedure has
been put in place out of respect for our staff and students.
Preparation:
Review your progress towards your degree prior to the advising
appointment. To do this, log-in to your My Illinois State page, click on
the Academics tab at the top, and select the "Progress Towards My
Degree" tile to the right. Be familiar with your remaining
requirements. Bring a list of courses you plan to take to satisfy those
requirements as well as any academic or personal questions, concerns, and goals
you wish to discuss.
Directions:
Julian Hall is located at 251 S. School
Street, connected to the Science Laboratory Building and across from The Alamo
II on the corner of School Street and North Street. My office is located on the
second floor within the Department of Chemistry office in 214 Julian Hall. When
you arrive, please sign-in on the front desk kiosk and have a seat.
